Evaluations

The following comments represent a small sample of long-answer course evaluations written by my students at the end of the semester. I have organized these comments according to a set of representative teaching strengths.

Please view this PDF to additionally view my evaluation data from the University of Florida and Georgia Tech as well as faculty teaching evaluation letters.

Sparking Active Conversations Through Enthusiasm and Interest
Ms. Kraft truly had a passion for teaching the subject matter at hand. As a result, she kept us all extremely engaged and passed her passion on to the class. She also explained concepts in a way that helped described the subject matter in the simplest way possible therefore allowing us to truly grasp the information. – Fall 2013

Ms. Krafft was extremely energetic and knowledgeable in the course. She made discussion feel safe and comfortable and made sure to encourage all sorts of opinions. She was very organized and made sure to keep the class updated on every aspect of the course. She also made herself readily available outside of class time and was very welcoming. Excellent work overall. – Spring 2014

She was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the topic of the course. As a result, she was often very enthusiastic about the discussions we had and was very good at leading the class. Discussions almost always branched out into a variety of different topics. Also gave lots of really good feedback on assignments. – Spring 2017

Ensuring Student Success Through Mentoring and Feedback
Ms. Krafft was very kind and informative. She made the expectations of the class well known. She always answers her emails or questions had in class. She is always willing to help and listen to any concerns and that was a huge contributory reason the course was a success. – Fall 2013

The greatest strength was giving exceptional feedback on assignments to help improve the class for the next assignment. – Fall 2015

Dr. Krafft was a great teacher! In the past, I have been a bit bored in english classes, but she really engaged me on the subject. She kept class conversation lively and encouraged students to share their thoughts. She was also great at giving personalized feedback on almost every assignment. I really appreciated hearing back from the professor directly with what I can improve as a writer or presenter. – Spring 2016

Exploring Communication Skills Beyond Writing
The diversity of projects. I learned many new skills such as website creation through the unique projects we were assigned. I also liked how a minimal amount of reading outside of the classroom was required and our writing assignments were not massive. – Fall 2015

We used lots of different devices and platforms to create our homeworks ranging from plotter printers to creating webpages from scratch. That was great. I never printed a poster before, also used any image editing program. – Fall 2015

“Dr. Andrea Krafft was easily one of the best English teachers I have ever had. Unlike some teachers, who do little to relate their material to their audience, Dr. Krafft took the time to create assignments that we found both interesting and served the overall goal of the class (developing multimodal communication). 10/10 Would take again (And I did). – Spring 2016

Bridging Courses with Students’ Fields of Study
The best aspect of the course was the subject manner and how it was able to be tied into our majors. – Spring 2016

She was very good with understanding that the majority of people in the class aren't english majors, but she made the class relevant to these majors while still connecting it back to english. The class helped provide a more theoretical and ethical standpoint of the material we learn in technical classes. – Spring 2016
